Happy 1st December

Hi everyone!  Happy 1st December, and the last month of 2024! Wow how fast time has flown!

So much has happened over such a short time and I hope there is still so much more good to come. After spending years feeling that my battles with my health would never end, then finding art which eventually led to me finding sculpting in Feb of this year my life has changed so much.

I've made over 40 sculptures, which are mostly all sat in the drying room right now, I've been able to get a second-hand kiln, due to the kindness and support of kind people who donated to my GoFundMe page, I've been given a set of office furniture which meant I could turn my spare room into my sculpting room and remove myself from the corner of my living room, and I've been contacted by 3 galleries, 2 which are interested in displaying my sculptures and one which has asked me to forward pictures of my sculptures when they have been fired and painted.

I've learnt so much too, only making my sculpting better each day which in turn just grows my love and passion for the craft, which I didn't think could have been possible.

So what does December hold for Dee?  More sculpting animals, hopefully hitting 40/200 for the endangered and vulnerable animals challenge.  I am also thinking about making some little animals for valentines day and for easter, something fun and cute that anyone can buy at reasonable prices.

As for 2025, I have no idea what is in stall for me, however I have a number of hopes and dreams to aim for and will only work harder each day to not only reach those goals, but to continue to make my sculptures for you to enjoy and to help the animals that I sculpt.

I aim to also get more equipment to help me with my sculpting, like stronger supports so I can sculpt things like animals in flight, or jumping and leaping about and I aim to hopefully get myself a larger kiln one day as my little kiln is perfect as a starter kiln, but to keep making my beautiful sculptures better I'd like to be able to make them bigger too.

So have a wonderful December and I'll be sure to catch up with you before the year is out.

Take care

Dee
