Hi everyone,
I promised big news, so here we go!
Firstly, on Wednesday, 30th October, my fiancé starts moving furniture to get my new sculpting room/studio ready. I have an amazing set
of furniture that will give me lots of desk and shelf space. Plus, he’s sorted a space in our small back room right next to the window for
my kiln. He’s heatproofing everything to ensure we’re safe, and it will be stood on concrete, which is why it's going in that room as it's the only one without a wooden floor. I can't wait to share pictures with you when we're in and set up!
But the other news is huge for me. I was contacted on Monday by a gallery in London called Brick Lane Gallery, to ask if I would like to have my sculptures on exhibition there!
This might not sound like much to you, but to me, it’s huge! Knowing my work has been seen by such a professional and well known gallery, nationally and internationally and deemed good enough to stand in their space, where it will be shared worldwide,
is a massive accomplishment for me.
Unfortunately, I can’t make the exhibition they suggested in November as my sculptures won’t be ready in time—they need firing, painting, and more firing. I have no idea how kind the kiln gods will be to me, so I can’t even say which pieces will be
available.
However, we are staying in touch, and as soon as I’m ready, I’m heading to London to put my sculptures in their gallery.
I’m so excited!
