...and its getting closer to Christmas everyday. Most have finished sculpting now and put away their tools for the year, along with their kilns, but not me. I wanted to keep going for as long as I can, and as there's only myself, the husband and 3 dogs over Christmas Day, and UK tv is appalling, I'll probably end up in here, unless of course I get some amazing Christmas gift that I spend all day with. A new sculpting book? sculpting tools? a bigger kiln 😂 (in my dreams), I actually have no idea what I'm getting this year, so it will be a huge surprise all round, the husband got a new very large, on wheels, toolbox for his garage/workshop, which he already has as there was no way of hiding it from him, as he was the only one who could move it, however he does have a few other items, half a dozen or more that he doesn't know about, which is always great, I love to surprise him at Christmas as he spends the whole year looking after me and my needs.
Once the expense of Christmas is over with, we can finally get the panels for the walls to protect them from any heat, and I can finally start firing me some sculptures. Sadly have a few have been broken in the move from one part of the home to the other, so I've got some I need to remake, but that's ok, it just means I'll do an even better job second time round. I am also going to sculpting my snowy owl again, as I'm must not happy with how he turned out. I think I might make a nice bust like I did of the most recent piece, the Atlantic Peregrine Falcon, as I feel that has turned out beautifully. Birds really aren't my speciality, and I need a lot more practise when it comes to feathers, but I know I will find my way with them, the same as I have all the others.
Do you have any big plans for Christmas? Or even New Year?
I do hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very jolly New Year, and I hope to see you here in 2025 to watch the progress of my sculptures and my life as I create and hopefully meet new goals and targets.
The first fired and glazed pieces will be coming in 2025 and I don't want you to miss, so keep watching out for it.
Take care everyone, I want to thank you all for your continued support and look forward to spending more time with you in 2025
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
