Commissioned Sculptures

Dee delights in creating sculptures that hold special meaning for you—whether it’s a tribute to a beloved pet, a favorite animal, or even a cherished garden visitor. Her passion lies in bringing wildlife and character to life, ensuring each piece is uniquely crafted with care, detail, and personality.

How the Process Works
To get started, simply reach out to Dee to discuss your ideas. If it’s within her sculpting abilities, she’ll be happy to accommodate your request. After your initial contact, Dee will arrange a call or live chat to go over all the details.

The subject Whether it’s a full-body sculpture, a bust, or a specific pose (sitting, lying down, standing).

Size & details Dimensions, colours, and any unique characteristics you’d like captured.

Materials & costs Based on your vision, Dee will determine the best materials and provide estimated pricing and timeframes.
For pet sculptures, Dee asks for at least six high-quality photos showing the front, back, left, and right sides of your pet, along with close-ups of the head and face. These help ensure the sculpture reflects their true features and personality. You can either take the photos yourself—just make sure they’re in natural lighting and HD quality so Dee can zoom in for accuracy or Dee can travel with her husband to take the photographs for you at a fee confirmed once distance is established.

Timescales & Process
Clay has its own rhythm—it cannot be rushed! Standard sculpture commissions will normally take between 4 – 6 weeks but I always stress that this can change if any problems occur during firing etc.  From start to finish. Bronze casting commissions take longer, often three months or more, as Dee is currently searching for a fine art casting foundry to ensure the highest quality finish, this will have to be something discussed at the time of discussing your sculpture.

Dee’s Style
Wildlife is at the heart of Dee’s sculpting, but she is equally happy to craft dogs, cats, birds, and other animals. Her style blends realistic detail with whimsical storytelling, bringing charm and life to every piece.
If you’re looking for a more modern, abstract, or minimalist sculpture, Dee can recommend other sculptors who specialize in those styles to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.

All Dee’s work is completely handmade and she can make just about any Animal you want sculpting from wildlife to pets, including dogs, cats etc.

Dee likes to work closely with you throughout the making process allowing you to make changes if needed to give you the confidence that you will have the perfect sculpture made exactly as you requested.

Prices & Deposit Sculptures will cost between £120 – £500+ depending on size, pose and number of animals and materials used. A bronze sculpture will cost significantly more than your ceramic sculpture.

Please feel free to get in touch to get a quote for your sculpture, once all details are agreed a deposit is required before the sculpture is started, this will be agreed upon between yourself and Dee. All deposits are non refundable. Dee requires a deposit due to the cost of what it takes to make these sculptures, its not just the clay, its the equipment used, the time, which is hours of sculpting alone, then the cost of firing and glazing, to be then let down halfway through is something Dee has to cover.

If I start a sculpture and it breaks in the kiln this is at no cost to you and the sculpture will be restarted at Dee’s cost and you will be informed, so you will be aware of any time added to the completion of the sculpture.
